Let's admit it, working a 9-5 job isn't the best work out there. There's overtime, sometimes even on the weekends. It's exhausting. Not unless, it pays you a ton of money, then yay to you! But for some, the salary they get isn't really enough, that is why they would often get another job, a side hustle if you must call it. Aside from a full-time corporate job, some would even have two or three side hustles. Wow, right? But it happens.
So, how do these people juggle their time between work, family, friends, or the love of their life? Once you get the grasp of it, I bet you can do it as well.
1. Prioritize
May it be juggling multiple jobs or workload, prioritizing is really important. You have to know what always comes first, what you have to submit first. Using a journal, a planner, or a calendar will help you prioritize your workload. You might even get to see a date where you can go out and take a breather!! With prioritizing, comes you being discipline. This means that you know what and what not to do. Being focused is the key.
2. Time Management
If you're good at it, and you've already practiced the art of multi-tasking, then good job! It's not to always necessary to multitask, some people prefer to finish their current work before jumping onto the next one. Whatever will make you composed and not feel pressured, will always be the right way to do your work.
3. Do not be afraid to ask for help
Asking for help isn't a sign of weakness. Sometimes, it can be overwhelming and you feel like you won't be able to finish a task on the given deadline. When this happens, make the move, look for someone who can help you. You can hire an assistant, he/she doesn't have to work every day, just 1-2 hrs a day or even in a week, just to do the simple tasks. It would really help you in finishing your tasks if you have some helping hands. Remember, your client is more important than your pride.
4. Always remember your WHY
I got this from my coach while I was learning an online course. Whenever you feel like giving up, think about the reason why you do these jobs. May it be for your family, you future travel, your future house, for a tuition, or for any other things you want and need in your life. Use this as your motivation to push through every day. Visualize yourself in them. Worth it. Right?
5. Learn to take a break
Never forget to take a breather. Push that pause button. Don't let yourself be burned out. Go out, have fun. Besides, you deserve it, you goal-getter!
Not everyone is lucky enough to be born in a wealthy family. Not everything will be given to you in a silver platter. You have to work and make them happen. The hustle pauses but it never stops.
It's not easy, but it's not impossible.
